So whats the haps?A few people have been asking me what I've been up to lately; well the last 2 weeks have been basically non-stop rain. And when I say non-stop I don't mean California non-stop which is cloudy skies and a few inches of drizzle. I mean heavy to torrential rains for probably 80 - 90% of the day. From what I've heard the downtown area (visible in the beginning of the Hawaii By Motorcycle Video) is totally flooded out. As a documentarian it's my responsibility to inform the public of whats going on. So I'm going to try and head down there tomorrow and get some video and photos of it and put it up here.

I hear you! I'm (luckily) on the other side of the Big Island in Kona, but access to the East side is completely cut off. Nice to know it's still there.
Hang in there...keep the bike dry...
The question is: will you make the evening news in the OC if you are lost in the flooding in Hilo? Don't be crazy, this probably won't get you the 15 minutes of fame so it's probably not worth getting too close...
Although you might make the local news: "Crazy Haole documentarian should have stayed in his house like the locals."
