So I've been here for a weekend and have managed to walk over 15 miles so far. The house is just over 2 1/2 miles from the beach, and we've walked there and back 3 times, then to Downtown Hilo, and the various shops near our house. In spite of being told that Hilo is rainy all the time, it has been very nice and sunny during the day with very random rain showers happening at night. When I say random, I mean no rain one minute, monsoon the next. We've been caught out in it more than once, but its refreshing to not care about getting rained on. You just accept the fact that you're going to get soaked, the nice thing is that the rain isn't cold so its like you just got out of the shower. With your clothes on.
